Whistle

I've come to realize when I started this blog, I wasn't sure exactly what I would post and now I see that most of my posts just show a link between art and fashion or something along those lines.

Van Gogh

I learned about Van Gogh today and I think he's pretty fascinating. There's just something about the tortured artist thing that gets me every time. It's been said that during some of his fits of psychosis he would eat dirt and tubes of paint.

I love both his earlier and later work.
His paintings were very gloomy and dark at the beginning of his career, but once he moved to Provence, France he started using complementary colors that made his paintings electric.

Silent Film Star II: Norma Talmadge

Once again, while reading "Tender is the Night" F. Scott Fitzgerald alluded to another silent star I did not know and therefore looked up.

Norma Talmadge(1893-1957) was one of the most popular silent film stars and yet when the talking film revolution started, she was unable to keep her stardom. Her most famous film was called Smilin' Through in 1922.
